114: Potteries Industrial Fires

  • The piece represents a typical Carl Philip potteries scene with a powerful fiery sky, lit from the powerhouse of the potteries and steel making furnace of Shelton Bar - glimmering off the smooth bottle oven kilns. Amongst the density of the potbanks are small depictions of churches and factories with worker silhouettes dotted around. The locals are also removing coal from the seams deep under Hem Heath mine - one of the most efficient mines in Europe in its hay day. Reflecting the use of natural elements are blue reflections depicting the many waterways used throughout Stoke-on-Trent.

This warm and involved piece makes an incredible impact on your wall.

Painted by pure palette knife skills and professional acrylics.
